Same here, I was changing preferences and then the program never started
up correctly.
Removing this file,
~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/ristretto.xml
logging out and back in again, did restore Ristretto to its functioning
state. Now I just wont touch the thumbnail option again...

Fixed in precise (and upstream since 0.1.x). Ristretto has been
rewritten upstream after the 0.0.93 release, so I'm afraid it'll stay
like that in oneiric...

I've been hit by this bug as well. Granted that it's very annoying and
affects reasonably popular functionality frequently used by users,
maybe it's a smart idea to fix this and supply corrected ristretto
version with update?

Great work. It is now usable for me again. I was really missing it. I'd
almost given up on Xubuntu and changed to Fedora 16 Xfce spin (which is
very nice)

zero. If you change it to anything else (I have tried 1 and 20 so far)
then Ristretto changes it to 73.
You can change it in the settings editor at Settings -> Se
