After some communication with the support team the following solved the
issue for me:
u1sdtool -q
rm -rf ~/.local/share/ubuntuone
u1sdtool -c
If you are trying to sync folders outside your ~/Ubuntu One folder
please open the Ubuntu One Control Panel, click on the "Cloud Folders"
tab and make sure

bug was not opened by you, and simply because you are not seeing it. The
original report was filed from Ubuntu 11.04, and it is still a supported

distribution has been through some upgrades so it is a bit different
from a clean installation.

Could you please attach the contents of the ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log
directory (in an archive) - syncdaemon using all the CPU may be related
to syncdaemon restarting after a fatal error.

Has anyone tried using it in Precise? I agree that it is stupid to place
more features in it without making it usable. I was also willing to use
it to support the Ubuntu project, but now I have to look for competing
services.

It's now April 2012 and this bug is still unassigned?
Also, not only does it consume 100% cpu, overtime it will also consume more and
more memory and can in some cases easily make the machine completely run out of
memory.

It's not even a new bug. I reported ubuntuone takins 100% of CPU a while
ago to the team. Then on launchpad. It's been a year now that this
problem exists.
