Dear Christopher,
Understood. Then, it is safe not to backport it, because it is not a big issue
to change the kernel every time I need to use this camera.
You may consider this closed.
Thanks.

Kiko Barcelli, thank you for your comments. Unfortunately, it is not my
call if you want a backport or not. Either you do, or you don't. If you
do, then that could be pursued. If you don't, it's considered closed as
Invalid, and who may or may not potentially have this exact issue has no

Dear Christopher,
With regard to myself, I can live with switching the kernel each time I need to
use the camera, and eventually I will migrate to 14.04, but the bug is still
valid and I don't know how who else is having the same problem.
It is your call.
Regards!

Dear Christopher, I've tested this bug on a live session of 14.04 as per
27-12-2013 and the camera works fine, so the issue is not there any more.
It persist though on the 12.04 stock, so at the moment when I need to use this
camera I use an upstream kernel.
Regards!

any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from

Hi Christopher,
I am confused about how to do the bisection.
Perhaps you can give me some guidance.
1.- So far from the Mainline Kernels:

3.3.1-030301-generic-paeDoes not work

Hi Christopher, I found an inconsistency in my bisection procedure... please
allow me to redo it and report again.

Does this mean that I can use a newer kernel and my problem will be solved?

Hi Christopher, I am still having this problem in my 10.04 box.
I used a live CD of 11.10 and installed Cheese to test the camera and
the problem remains unsolved.
I don't know how to test an "upstream kernel"... I could do it if you
point me to the right how-to.
Thanks!
