to this bug than i will see it and sent it to upstream if log shows that
problem.

The more difficult part about this bug is that it isn't consistent, it
happens only occasionally. It was annoying enough that I switched to
Pidgin temporarily. I'll go back to Empathy to see if I can continue to
reproduce this or get more information.
