Starting in Natty, we changed the default backports configuration such
that enabling backports doesn't automatically result in getting all
packages from backports. You can see

I just wanted to point out that in Oneiric (with backports enabled) it still
installs an older version of the package, even if the package version says
3.3.1-1, it contains gedit-latex-plugin version 0.2.0-1 inside.
I had to manually download the debfile posted above to get it working.

I am using the plugin on a daily basis.
I am not sure whether this is the correct place to mention this, but I
noticed a very slight problem: the plugin uses gnome-open to view the
compiled tex file in pdf, ps, etc. Unfortunat
I had the same problem, but it works after installing the deb file.
One minor problem is that that bottom panel is not shown automatically.
I have to manually switch it on, each time I open a document. Is there a
way to tell gedit to always show the bottom panel? It used to remember
the last setti
