Kubuntu now uses lightdm, same as Ubuntu, so the highlighted issues do
not present anymore.

One other thing I remember happening is that KDE would sometimes
experience display breakage at at or after the loading screen. I have
kdm in use now, so I don't remember the behavior exactly.
