This wont get fixed in Firefox-2 as only security, and very ergent bugs will be
fixed.
Most likely your issue was due to a corrupt profile. To test please see
instructions at: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Bugs
If in Firefox-3.0 you see this issue please make sure you try witha new
profil

In fact, the bug is slightly different than what I thought:
in Desktop 1
Open Firefox, open two tabs
do File-Quit but do not answer to the confirm dialog box (forget it)
in Destop 2:
Open a new Firefox window
If you chose File/Quit, nothing seems to happen
(in fact, a second hidden confirm dialog
Please dont close mozilla bugs that soon. Let our team close them as we
may know what is going on with each bug.

Very strange. Here works fine. Try to start firefox in a shell then look
on the shell if there's some error messages.
