Since Ubuntu14.04 graphics is very slow on
1. a VMware installation
2. on RS780 AMD graphics
On Ubuntu12.04 there was no problem, including watching movies with
RS780 graphics. With Ubuntu14.04 it is impossible (too slow).

through update-manager then reboot and let us know if that makes a

I think it is too much Python in Unity. Qt gives same speed of
development but very fast.

I've upgraded from 10.10 to 11.10 and too find it sometimes extremely
slow and unresponsive. Sometimes it kinda freezes although the hard-disk
light flashes.This normally happens if I switch apps or open a new app
etc. It's almost so bad I'm considering going back to 10.04.
