Now I got that error, too. Before, with version 0.5.8.1-4ubuntu8, I
could start it and got Bug #84422. Unfortunately I can't downgrade to
the older version to try if it still runs.

I got the same issue. There are no issues during and after upgrading,
however when launching this item from control center, the error occurs.

system is failing to boot now due to some other bug. won't be able to
help with this one anymore. wont even boot in recovery/single user
mode.

wrong.

Weird, hal-device-manager has a dependency to python-dbus. What is the
output of these commands?
