Hi, I have a VAIO FS 920 and I had the same problem with Feisty.
Searching at the web I found a way to solve the problem. A good way to
do this quickly http://jpoa.info/blog/?p=13. The only thing not yet
solved is that the functions are not display at the screen. (the osd is
not working)

The module is there now but my VAIO (FS920) FN keys are still
unsupported. How do I go about helping to get it supported?

Module is available. The initramfs is supposed to load it.

I confirm that the FN-key brightness controls now no longer work for me
either under Feisty. They DID work under Edgy, without *any*
modifications required, and without the need for me to compile or
install any additional kernel modules or helper scripts. The FN-keys
still work to control volume.
Yea I should have added before that I did the `sudo modprobe sony_acpi`
command and tested fsfn. This is actually how I came to the conclusion
that something is missing in the kernel for Sony Vaio ACPI.

Looks like it's there, just not loaded. Try running `sudo modprobe
sony_acpi` and then testing fsfn.

I get the following after running sudo modinfo sony_acpi:

What is the output of `modinfo sony_acpi`?
On my edgy machine the sony_acpi module is located at
/lib/modules/2.6.17-10-generic/kernel/drivers/acpi/sony_acpi.ko, so
there should be a similar path in feisty.
If it appears available, run `sudo modprobe sony_acpi` to load the
module. I think there'
Well, it never worked out of the box on my laptop...but I compiled a
program called fsfn to make it work. The difference is that edgy and
dapper both had the sony_acpi module included already. I don't know if
this is the only problem though, but it is missing.

It sounds like this used to work before. Was this a regression from
dapper/edgy?
