Yes, for example, on Edgy (Amarok 1.4.4):
# dpkg -L amarok | grep ipod
/usr/share/services/amarok_ipod-mediadevice.desktop
/usr/lib/kde3/libamarok_ipod-mediadevice.la
/usr/lib/kde3/libamarok_ipod-mediadevice.so
And on the new Fesity package:
# dpkg -L amarok | grep ipod
(returns nothing)

Sounds like a confirmation to me.
I think iPod support comes from running ./configure with the flag
--with-libgpod, which I would assume Brandon had enabled when he built
1.4.5 I'm sure he'll get to this soon, as there's also a collection
scanner issue in bug 83454
