Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with the hplip
package. You made this bug report in 2011 and Ubuntu and hplip have been
updated since then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
ticket?

It seems that bb_soapht.so contains a proprietary binary blob that needs
to be downloaded from the hplip project. Running, "sudo hp-plugin" from
the hplip package will download and install the required restricted
driver.
