Thanks Lukasz. So just to confirm, everything is now working even with
the latest 3.0.0-7.8 kernel correct?
I personally havn't looked at the nvidia-current package, but if it were

kernel is installed, assuming you have the ne

have checked it earlier :embarrassed: ). In short words reinstalling
nvidia-current and by that building new modules fixed the problem. Well
it really didn't look like X issue since even safe mode didn't work :/

When I select "Resume normal boot" in the safe mode menu it boots but X doesn't

Thanks Lukasz, just a few more test kernels to narrow this down. Please

Ok, I've placed new test kernels at the same location:
http://people.canonical.com/~ogasawara/lp815810/
I also moved the previous test kernels to the bad/ directory at that

Just want to also add that after you boot the test kernel, check the
output of "uname -a" from a Terminal window just to verify you did
indeed boot into the test kernel, eg 3.0.0-6.7~lp815810v1commit4a6162d3

Hi Lukasz,
If you can, I'd like to get your help isolating the patch which caused
this regression. I would like to bisect the set of patches between
3.0.0-5 and 3.0.0-6. This will require going through about 4-5 test
