you are right, actually it is just with the succession of circumflex (^) and
one number
it works only with numbers not with letters, it works with the symbol plus (+)
but not with minus (-)
but it is very useful when you often use powered numbers (exponential,
scientific numbers, units...)

ok, sorry for misunderstanding
first: the normal behaviour
type circumflex and one character, for example: ^9
the combination of ^ and 9 is automatically changed into 9 (in superscript
character)
second: the "bug"
type circumflex and minus: ^-
nothing appears instead of the superscripted minus (-
turlupouet, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.
