Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the
development release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could

Likewise here too, I have just recently installed Fiesty i386 within a
virtual machine for testing purposes - no matter what I do I cannot save
changes from dhcp to static - once you close they are forgotten.
Any one have news on this bug?

Same problem here. I tried to switch from dhcp to a static ip address,
but I was unable to connect because the setting was always forgotten
after closing the Network Settings.
