reports. Different dependencies resolution problems can lead to this
very error. Thanks in advance.
I'm closing this report because the original reporter said he finally
successfully upgraded but didn't attach the required logs.

Unsure if same bug. Lubuntu 11.10 was working. After a partial upgrade
(unable to do full upgrade), have a black screen and not login. This
happened before after upgrading 11.10. It means starting over with
another test version of 11.10 after this latest upgrade failure gets
corrected.
