I'm having a hard time figuring out how this problem is only of Medium
importance. Maybe it hasn't been reported enough, and if there is
another bug report on this issue, I cannot find it.
I am using the latest daily build live-cd, and every time I have to put

I've had similar experiences on a kubuntu install on my main machine - not
virtual box.
I select shutdown, the screen greys out a bit - but all the apps are still
running and it doesn't get any further; I can still type in a konsole and do a
sudo shutdown -h now
