Piotr Piwonski, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu
better. This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue?
Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images
are available from
Hi,
Thanks for the information. I will install and test the new release as soon as

Hello,
I have been suffering from a very similar bug with one of my systems,
but I it appears to have been fixed in Oneiric.
Can you please test the latest version of Ubuntu and see whether the
problem is also fixed for you? It can be found at

Thanks in advance,
Tim
Hi,
I'm assuming that the code added to the /usr/lib/pm-
utils/power.d/wireless will have the same effect as iwconfig command.
This will solve the issue. Unfortunately I have notice that the power-
management is not able to estimate correctly the remaining power on
battery which in effect is not p
What seems to happen is that while your system allows telling the
driver to go in powersave mode; this has the driver react badly
and lose the connection (and I guess it can't establish one afterwards
either).
As a workaround:
Edit /usr/lib/pm-utils/power.d/wireless ; add "exit 0" at the very

Tests of the workaround are promising. There is still some packet lost
but not so huge as at beginning:
Pings from router to laptop without AC connected:
ping 192.168.1.109
PING 192.168.1.109 (192.168.1.109): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 192.168.1.109: seq=1 ttl=64 time=307.695 ms
64 bytes from 19
Found a workaround which I'm testing at the moment. Disabling the power
management on wlan0 by command:
sudo iwconfig wlan0 power off
seams to mask the problem for a while. Checking what impact it has on
battery life.

Just to add more there no network issue. It looks like the responses on
battery for network are very slow. Attaching tcpdum output with no AC
power connected. I have a tcpdump gathered during the same download with
AC power connected which in the same time gathered over 3000 packets.
No idea what
Hi,
Just notice a symptom when unplugging AC power an gnome-power-manager is
"reacting" in proper way so is showing a proper time to discharge the battery
(not the 0:02) then the wifi is working as connected to the AC.
Not sure what is happening.
Regards,
Peter
