with exit status 3 on my root partition.

Brian,I attached all the files what you ask .
No fsck do not run again after reboot,only after the system is installed.
When I make a new partition fsck died also on that new partition.

better. Could you please provide the output of 'sudo tune2fs -l
/dev/hda1' where hda1 is a valid hard drive partition (actually all
would be best) and the log files (checkfs and checkroot) in
/var/log/fsck? Additionally does

This issue is still present in the Herd 3 alternate install CD.
fsck died with exit status 3.

Same here after a fresh installed Herd 2.
Install without problems,rebooted the system,usplash started and after a few
seconds
it goes to the terminal.
