The touchpad/touchscreen is still problematic under 12.10. I will
provide apport dumps when I am able, but after fighting (and failing) to
get the OS installed and bootable at all today, it's going to have to
wait at least one more day. Commenting now in case any reporting
procedures have changed (

Hi,
This bug is made by grub
In order to solve this problem come with me only 4 step
1.open terminal
2.enter "sudo gedit /etc/default/grub"
3.find GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="" and change it to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="i8042.noloop"
then save the file.
4.enter "sudo update-grub" in terminal
5.enter "reboot" i

11.04 fixed the touchscreen acting like touchpad problem (it now operates like
it should) but the touchpad doesn't.

I have the same issue, but my touch screen acts as though it was a touch
pad (relative movement from current mouse location, not absolute
movement from touch on screen)
