now i understand what happened.
The application window was placed at the corner and i did not recognize
that it was wrapped around at the opposite side by a small amount. This
bug is invalid.

i cannot reproduce this behavior on another pc i updated to natty amd64.
The box where i registered the error had a fresh install of natty
amd64.
