I installed mediawiki on Gutsy Ubuntu server

and made a successful install without the problems I noted above. The version I

It's difficult to recall. As far as I recall, it was not removed in the
past, and that the problem occurred on the server version, but not the
regular one. Sorry I can't be of more help. I might be installing Gutsy
server on a new machine in the near future, so I'll be able to test

001-mediawiki looks like a custom vhost to me - i believe only the
/etc/apache2/conf.d/mediawiki.conf is setup by the ubuntu/debian packages.
have you had mediawiki installed and removed in the past on this machine?
