I can confirm this in Unity. Mipmap on causes the problem, off the
problem is gone. Running FGLRX on an ATI HD 2400 (Toshiba laptop). I
could test using X.org's ati drivers or vesa drivers. Just e-mail me if
you think this could help isolate the problem.

I'm pretty sure this is a FGLRX related issue because I only started
having this issue after installing a Radeon 6870, and therefore
switching to the FGLRX driver. I previously used Natty with an NVidia
9600 GT and the Nvidia binary from the website with mipmapping enabled,
with no problems.

Thanks to "staffankvisth" in youtube, there is now a workaround:
TURN OFF MIPMAPPING.
Yup, that simple. I had mipmapping on (for whatever reason I cannot
remember). I turned it off and the app switcher behaves itself now
nicely.

I got similar problem after upgrade to Natty.
I think, this bug has same nature as 740387.
Try setting GConf key /apps/metacity/general/capture_before_unmap to
false. This trick eliminated most of similar art
I can now reproduce this reliably. This affects both "Application
Switcher" and "Static Application switcher".
Preconditions:
* Upgraded to Natty
* All available upgrades installed. (No conflicts etc.)
* Switched to gnome-classic
* Ring Switcher configured from CompizConfig
* Freshly rebooted mach
More likely a compiz bug

I was using "Static Application Switcher" with as-fast-as-possible settings.
I switched to shift-switcher in compiz-config which seems to have alleviated
the problem.
It seems to me this is actually bug in compiz-plugins or compiz.
Could someone transfer this to compiz for consideration?
