I can confirm that this problem affects the ThinkPad X220T while running
Unity. The X220T uses the Intel HD 3000 chipset. However, the fact that
normal applications cannot use the black space, but the dash does (in a
rotationally-challenged way), made me try logging in with Classic Mode

I think this is the same thing that is affecting me. I have two monitors
that I keep in sort of an "L" configuration (see screenshot for what the
layout is supposed to look like, and what it ends up looking like when I
try to actually set it up that way). The configuration worked fine in
all previo

orientation of my tablet pc screen to portrait I get a solid black
rectangle on top of all windows. I have a Fujitsu Lifebook T730 and use
the standard Intel graphic drivers. The problem persists since I
