The Debian maintainer already modified the original icon provided by upstream.
He resized it to 32x32 pixels (because of the menu policy) and used a small
hack to replace the original icon with his icon.
I modified the .install file so that this icon is not installed and added a
line to install
Please don't subscribe ubuntu-universe-sponsors if no debdiff is available.
Anyway, I will attach one soon.
