Ok, I know this has been marked as "invalid" (and to tell you the truth, I was a little mad that it was) but I think I figured it out. I installed the nouveau drivers, disabled the proprietary ones, and enabled the nouveau drivers with "experimental 3D support". Compiz is working just fine. I'd
