At the end of EACH successful file transfer, the process crashes, taking
all available CPU cycles with thread status 'poll_schedule_timeout' for
nautilus.
In logs, I see:

Please tell us if the backtrace on comment #15 is sufficient, and if we
must give more information. I have this bug for a while (and I still
have it on Ubuntu 11.10), and it makes Nautilus unusable for ftp.

gvfsd-ftp crashe
I don't own any natty machine anymore, but this is still happening on
oneiric. I can only attach backtrace from it. Also note this is first
time i was debugging application, so please point out if something is
missing. Thanks

Same here, Nautilus 2.32.2.1 on Ubuntu Natty with Classic session, while
uploading to an FTP connection that is accessed via username and
password. The Nautilus window of the FTP server closes, the copy
progress bar remains but is stuck at the end. Canceling the copy action
via |X| shows no reactio
Also affects me, Ubuntu natty, nautilus 2.32.2.1. Affects both ftp
connection type, accessed with credentials and logged as anonymous.

I too have this bug, with Nautilus 2.32.2.1 on Ubuntu Natty (Ubuntu
Classic's session). It happens on FTP addresses accessed with username
and password authentication.

Some more on this:
it happens only on desktop. Laptop do not suffer from this.
Also this happens only while logged as anonymous.
After the crash, until I don't kill hanged process connecting again and
uploading the file nautilus act as normal. After killing and repeating
it crashes again.
