I have tried different configurations, maybe that's the cause of the
discrepancies. Can I test any specific configuration for you?

Using the latest alsa-modules from the ppa (linux-alsa-driver-
modules-2.6.35-28-generic) still doesn't work.
I'm attaching the alsa-info with the microphone plugged and the latest
modules installed.
