Thanks, but it seems you forgot the precondition: "After switching back
to an old driver or Ubuntu version where wifi works". Please do that and
try again.
Also, to add to the above list it would be useful to know which Broadcom chip
you have. You can find out by getting the output of:
lspci

@Costales: Sorry, to clarify my previous comment: If you check your
router and find it is configured to use a wifi channel greater than 11
(>2.462 GHz) then this is a duplicate of bug #713528.

Please make sure you reboot after enabling these drivers. However, if
there are no networks detected (and here, not even a network card for
wireless detected), it has to be an issue with the driver -- reassigning
to 'bcmwl'.
