I had the problem that my laptop (FSC Lifebook S-6120) didn't restart
since I installed Ubuntu Hardy with kernel 2.6.24-X. When i selected
"restart" out of the menus or executed "sudo reboot", the system tried
to shut down, but when the usplash bar was at it's minimum nothing
happened. The computer
Restart works properly on the Averatec 3150H laptop using the following
kernels:

2.6.26-5

upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.

powers off fine. Don't know if this helps.
