seeing the above issues under a minimal xfce desktop under edgy. Dist- upgrade from dapper. Apps affected are xmmx, nerolinux, nwn installer. Solution at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk+1.2/+bug/62300 does not work, as well as here : https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk+1.2/+bug/65708

I installed the gnome-desktop package *after* upgrading from kubuntu dapper tu kubuntu edgy. I don't see this problem under Gnome. I also changed theme from the default one to Aero (downloaded from gnome- look.org) to see if this would have fixed the problem under KDE. I still don't see anything, b

It sounds, to me, like this is a problem with GTK 1.x-based applications; Audacity, Ardour, XMMS, and NeroLinux all use the old 1.x series of GTK, to the best of my knowledge. Let's re-assign it to the gtk+1.2 package to see if we can find someone with some insight into the problem. ** Changed in

I have the same issue I have been googling all around and found some hints about gtkrc being the culprit and how to configure certain font settings in gtkrc. Unfortunately none of those hints helped. I'd really appreciate if someone would look into this because other well-used gtk1 apps like xmms
