Title:
wired network connec
It works !!!
I have connected my hard disk to a computer that have a network card
that works with ubuntu 10.10
Then I have deleted the entries in /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-
net.rules ..
Then I have loaded its network card driver :
modprobe tg3
And opps .. I have updated my system .
So that ifconfig shows the network adapter has been found, but it's
receiving exactly nothing - which is a little odd.
So yes, update is worth a try - now how to do it without a network - hmm; the
best bet is trying to borrow another network card
or a USB ether dongle; and see if you can get that
Sorry .. my question was ... How can I update my system WITHOUT any
network ???

Can you also please provide the output of
/sbin/ifconfig -a
Those up,down etc messages look OK to me because the last one is 'becomes
ready' and that suggests it does
finally notice it's OK (if that's the last one).
