from Luka Renko:
Fix released with 0.9.1 in Feisty.
Edgy users can use 0.9.1 packages from
http://www.mpe.mpg.de/~ach/kubuntu/edgy/Pkgs.php
===
I added to my /etc/apt/sources.list:
deb http://www.mpe.mpg.de/~ach/kubuntu/edgy ./
deb-src http://www.mpe.mpg.de/~ach/kubuntu/edgy ./
Fixing this in Edgy requires:
1) Adding the files
/usr/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/digikam-gphoto2-camera.desktop
and
/usr/share/apps/digikam/utils/digikam-camera
from the Feisty package to the Edgy package and
2) editing the file
/usr/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/digikam_upload_photos.
Is it worth adding that to the Edgy backports repository? I don't know
whether the people who tend to use backports will be those who upgrade
to Feisty anyway, or whether on the contrary those who take advantage of
the longer term support will also want backports to stay up to date.

It was in Edgy. I have just checked, and it is fixed in Feisty. As a
side note, the text which appears in the hotplug dialogue box was nicer
in Edgy ("Upload photos to Digikam" rather than "Detect camera and
upload to Digikam" or whatever it is in Feisty). Although something

Michael, was your issue in Kubuntu Edgy, since the issue is solved in
the current Feisty beta (for me atleast) I'm wondering what needs to be
done to create a fix for the edgy release.

I have the same problem as the original poster with a Canon Powershot

I find solutin in Gentoo forums. This opens it correctly if i put it in
control center => storage devices and put this as action:
digikam --detect-camera --caption "%u"
That default 'Upload to digicam' fails.
