this one is not reproducable at will. Crash happened while running off the
installation media,
i.e. in the installation X session. Not sure if you can somehow use debugging
symbols in that sessin.

No, I've been seeing invalid frame buffer messages in a lot of logs
(including my own). I need to look into that at some point but I
suspect it's a red herring.
