I have same bug on my Ubuntu 11.04 with using LXDE or Classic Ubuntu DE
(Gnome 2.xx). Without "psimedia" is not happened.
(:14432): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_debug_add_log_function: assertion
`func != NULL' failed
Unable to load element 'v4lsrc'.
(:14432): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot regis
Same problem here with PCLinuxOS. I have found that it is due to an
update of gstreamer0.10-plugins-base. When I roll back from
gstreamer0.10-plugins-base-0.10.33 to gstreamer0.10-plugins-base-0.10.32
and libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0.10.33 to libgstreamer-plugins-
base0.10-0.10.32 psi with psime
JFTR: Problem exists with Ubuntu Classic, too. Because of #755928, I
can't build my own binaries to debug the issue further :/

I have the same problem, even if PSI is freshly installed with apt-get.

This problem happens with Ubuntu, with Unity, but doesn't happen with
Kubuntu, with KDE 4.6.2.
Could this be caused by a missing package related to the DE?

Note that this isn't a problem with psi 0.14-2 and psimedia 1.0.3-4
under Maverick. Seems like some kind of binary incompatibility issue.
