I have this issue but only after upgrading to Ub11.04 and Ffox 4.02. Unable to recover at all - keyboard LED (num lock) goes out and mouse pointer disappears - sorry I upgraded now, cant even get to updates or get back into system without a complete power down. -- You received this bug notificat

I have the same issue, it is firefox, after several minutes of waiting, i can see in the gnome-system-monitor that some tasks are Uninterrumpible, like Xorg, firefox-bin, plugin-container, evolution, etc An i can also notice that the hard drive is intensive accesed. I changed the urlclassifier.
