However I though I agree that the "alias" part isn't much of an issue I
still disagree that the current method is the best way.
I remember several years back when I first started using Linux , I got
confused and had to go online to look up how to configure gaim.
Though
Guillermo, that's not what's being discussed here.

Gaim is a multi-protocol IM client. We seek to abstract as many protocol
specific things as possible. We've chosen "screen name", so that's what
is used everywhere. If we wanted to be perfectly correct and clear, it's
not an "e-mail address" either, so much as a "Microsoft
For now, if you want to set your screen name (what other see you named)
selecting in gaim menu Accounts->[EMAIL PROTECTED]>Set display name.
