I'm so sorry, I just tested if it was the same issue on Windows, and yes, I get
only 30 mins of battery time on each OS. Guess its my battery which is the real
problem.

I'm not sure exactly what changes caused this, maybe a kernel upgrade
or something like that, it started to happen in Dapper and continued in
Edgy.

Please clarify what changed to cause this. Is it that dapper, battery
works fine, and in edgy the battery depletes too quickly?
Provide (attach, do not paste) dmesg output for dapper and edgy on this
machine. Provide a tarball of /proc/acpi from dapper kernel and edgy
kernel:
(cd /proc/ tar zcf
