it's a gtk 2.10 issue. this happened in xarchiver too when 2.10 was
released and xarchiver doesn't use pygtk since it's written in c.

Confirmed on edgy.
This looks like either pygtk or GTK+ (2.10) bug . It has already been
reported in at least one more package.
