It doesn't only affect Searchmonkey. I have the same problem when
Nicotine+ is open. If you try to open the gnome-system-monitor it
crashes immediately. I attached a stack trace for this.

Yup - still a bug - exactly as the OP describes. Continues to be a
problem on 11.04/Natty for System Monitor 2.28.2 and searchmonkey 0.8.1
If System monitor is running, it exits if searchmonkey is started.
If searchmonkey is running, System Monitor starts and immediately exits.

Same issue here but on architecture: amd64
gnome-system-monitor crash when opening if searchmonkey is already
running, or it crash when searchmonkey is opened.
