I think the same happened to me.
Nautilus hangs, one thread uses max. cpu, and I can only see the blank
directory, no icons displayed.
I hope this GDB backtrace helps. I started nautilus from gdb, reproduced
the error and stopped natilus with Ctrl+C two times.

Thank you for your bug. When that happens does nautilus use the CPU?
Does waiting make the window being displayed correctly? Can you close
the window or do you need to restart nautilus when that is happening? If
it freeze completly nautilus could you get a backtrace
