Got the same problem - I'll try to see if it is linked to 3D acceleration.
I don't agree with the "you can close this ticket cause it's obvious that
Briquolo requires 3d acceleration" sentence : if a software needs 3d
acceleration, it must check it at startup rather than dying without any notice.
Briquolo works beautifully now. I installed a binary nvidia driver using
method 2 at http://doc.gwos.org/index.php/Latest_Nvidia_Edgy
Briquolo is a nice game - very 3d looking. My kids will love it! I suppose
you can close this ticket, because it is obvious that Briquolo requires 3d
accelerat
