I have the same problem on my newly installed edgy system. I can't burn with k3b or baker with my normal user. But: Right click on a *.iso file in nautilus, then "burn cd"works! Burning with root and k3b works as well. -- can't erase cdrw; permission denied https://launchpad.net/bugs/69329
