Auto proxy config can't work for non-browser apps, because the autoproxy script is a Javascript file (see my comments on Bug 22705). However, this should be noted somewhere. Or perhaps we can move installation of updates into the browser, like Microsoft does. :-p Jens -- Proxy settings does not
