I've done several installations with feisty, and the -updates are there.
For universe/multiverse they were absent (if used), but that's fixed now
in gutsy.

Have you done a "fresh" install or an upgrade from Dapper?
If you try the DesktopCD you will see that the edgy-updates repositories
is absent.
