I'm confirming this problem. Evolution during startup asks for
passwords. After cancelling for each account separately, user could get
mail with F9.
I've discovered, that deleting ~/.evolution/mail/config/folder-tree-
expand-state.xml causes this problem to dissapear. Although after
quitting, this
Reopening, somebody having the problem should probably forward that

I don't use empty passwords either: evolution handles two accounts and
pops up windows for both.

Do you use an empty password?
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373503 upstream is similar to

I would like to confirm this on Edgy (evolution 2.8.1-0ubuntu4). When I
start evolution, windows confirming saved passwords come up as per David
Prieto's original description. Evolution works at creating the mail
folders and displays in the background and no data is transfered over
the network/int
well, maybe evo saves the password or something, I don't know. I'll
attach a screencast:

is it getting mail on that account when you press send&receive even if
you didn't give it a password? how would it do to force the server to
accept the connection without giving it a password?

IMO the problem is, if you don't need to input the password (which you
don't) you shouldn't even be asked for it. That window is useless and
quite annoying.
I'm on Edgy BTW.

Thanks for your bug. What is the issue with having the option to cancel
the action? What version of Ubuntu do you use?
