I've
got it working winxp host - edgy guest and a M$ wheelmouse with changing the
protocol to IMPS/2 as found on.

I also installed vmware-tools ( workstation 5.5.3 build-34685 ) but it
didn't worked without the change in xorg.
changed this to vmware-player.
I run VMware Server (Free version) and don't have this problem. This
could be due to me installing the VMware toolset. To install VMware
toolset, when you are booted up to an image and it is running, select
from the toolbar "VM -> Install VMware Tools". I know this p

This sounds like a problem with vmware not just firefox. Would you mind
filing a support request with vmware at

As I say in the text, this isn't limited to Firefox, but the bug
reporting system seemed to require I pick one package, and that's the
one it's most bothersome in. Maybe I should have looked for a mouse
driver package - sorry for any confusion I may have caused.
