Nothing at all to do with mounting a partition - it's a kernel oops in
zlib_inflate. It may help to clean the CD/DVD, to burn the CD/DVD at a
lower speed, or to clean the CD/DVD drive lens (cleaning kits are often
available from electronics suppliers).

This was Edgy RC desktop i386. It didn't install so I immediately
installed Edgy RC alternate i386 which went flawless.
