Carlos, re Comment #3 above, i have intel ("GenuineIntel" according to
/proc/cpuinfo), and i think i'm suffering from the same bug here on
ubuntu 10.10.
I tried to run the Camera program, and i get output similar to what
beefreak indicated:

On ubuntu 10.10, i386 i get this errors:
$ DBModeler

I must add, it seems to be a problem of the amd64 architecture (x86_64)
as many people can't reproduce it on i386

packaging 0.17 for 10.10 or will we need to wait until 11.04?

(Maverick), it leaves a few errors, then segfaults. Here is an example
of launching Terminal.app:
