Update on problem #3: I had my "/home" encrypted. Now I reinstalled my system without encryption, and the freeze problem seems to have been solved. This was the most serious usability issue- Ubuntu team should look into it. Other problems (#1, 2, and 4) persist. -- Incompatible hardware "Acer As

Even more problems: 3. Sometimes, during startup, the computer freezes at the blank screen just before the login screen. No disk activity is seen during those freezes. 4. It's not detecting the battery. It always thinks it's on AC power. Even "power management" does not have "On Battery" tab. --
